Singing is a very big thing in the Philippines. Aside from the voice talent shows that pop out left and right, ask any Filipino if they frequent videoke places or own a videoke machine at home, and you'll probably get a "yes" for an answer.
The Peninsula Manila aims to celebrate our passion for the art by hosting their own singing contest. There are a lot of prizes at stake - P100,000 in cash, a scolarship at John Robert Powers and Spotlight Artists Centre, and a weekend stay at the hotel. Of course, there is also a contract to perform at the Salon de Ning, a sophisticated bar with an eclectic yet harmonious combination of interesting, artistic pieces and shades of purple, red, and orange.
The contest will be judged by some big personalities like Tim Yap, Dulce, and Sitti and contestants will be judged based on their voice and their overall stage presence.
1. Contestant must be a college student, 18 to 25 years of age
2. Submit your entries at Sing@Ning's Youtube Page
3. 30 lucky people will be picked from the online entries, and 18 will be picked to sing each other out at the Salon de Ning on September 16.
Whether you're an aspiring singer or just a casual fan of the trade, the Salon de Ning will be an interesting place to go to this coming September.
